Eden Hazard leads Chelsea to victory over West Ham

The 28-year-old Chelsea sensation single-handedly dismantled West ham’s defense with a stunning solo opener and a late second terrific closer.

The two scores totaled his tally to 19 goals in all competitions for Chelsea this season, matching his best-ever single season tally.

The Belgian’s Performance Stunned even his Teammates

Callum Hudson-OdoiCallum Hudson-Odoi, Chelsea’s forward/winger revealed that even their fellow teammates were amazed by the Belgian’s wonder opening goal against the visitors.

The 18 year old revealed that he watched on in wonderment as Hazard weaved past five West Ham defenders before scoring brilliantly at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

“All I can say is that I watched the whole thing with my mouth wide open,” said Hudson-Odoi. “He’s an exceptional player, though, and I do expect things like that from him. I just watch and learn from him in training, and then into games. Watching someone like that, he is a superb role model to look up to.”

The Blues Rise to Third Place

The 2-0 victory over West Ham moved the Blue’s up to third place in the otherwise extremely competitive race that has been witnessed this season for a top four spot. This puts them two points ahead of Tottenham as well as three points ahead of Arsenal.

However, the Gunners and the Spurs both have a game in hand over the Blues, which even Hudson-Odoi was aware of how vital the Monday’s win was.

‘The three points were absolutely crucial,’ Hudson-Odoi told Chelsea TV. ‘A couple of other teams dropped points so we needed to get the result, and we did and we did it in the right manner as well. Our mentality was strong, we worked hard throughout the game, and we had to stay patient because they stayed very compact. So we just had to keep working, and getting our way through and trying to keep moving the ball, and I felt we did that well.’

Move to Real Madrid

The Belgian national gave the Chelsea fans a piece of the action they are likely to miss next season if the player’s magnificent display convinces Real Madrid to pay the 100 million pounds reported to be the asking price for the player.

Hazard’s current Chelsea deal expires next summer and the giant Spanish club is reported to be closing in on signing the midfielder but only after, they match the Blue’s hierarchy valuation. Coach Maurizio Sarri has previously stated the Blues will respect the Belgium star’s decision on which club he will choose to represent next season.

The player has, however, resolved that he will delay the decision to move or not until the end of the campaign. He has also downplayed the importance of personal milestones stating that his target is to win games rather than scoring goals.

Fans want Hazard to Remain at Stamford Bridge

Eden HazardHazard’s first goal on Monday night on the 24th minute where he beautifully waltzed through the visitor’s midfield and defense then fired past goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski had fans stream to social media to relay their admiration.

One @JaffarMuhamma15 tweeted ‘Do whatever you can to keep this man’. Another one wrote ‘Give him 500k please, we need him’. This clearly shows the impending heartbreak among the Blues’ fans if the 28 year old decides to leave the club at the end of the season.

Hazard is at the peak of his powers, but whether he heads to Real Madrid this summer or not, he is still a Chelsea man for now.
