Big Bucks Bingo was held at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds this last Sunday to benefit the Helpmate Crisis Center. Approximately $2,000 was earned to benefit the organization, according to Michelle Burt of Helpmate.
About 160 people were in attendence to enjoy the afternoon “getting lucky” and to visit in good company.
Lunch was served at 1 p.m. with bingo to follow from 2-6:30 p.m.
“I believe the Big Bucks Bingo was successful as far as I could tell,” Michelle Burt of Helpmate said. “We didn’t have any complaints.”
Sharlyn Peterson was the winner of the Grand Prize Jackpot of $500, and Carman Shane was the second place winner of the $250 jackpot. Shane donated half of the winnings back to Helpmate and half went to the Node school/church to help repair the roof.
“Helpmate is a good organization,” Shane said. “It’s the only time we play bingo, which is once a year at the Big Bucks Bingo. Polly Boner’s chicken noodles are reason enough to go and we plan to attend next year.”
