This is not the first bid made for the company, but the third in the last few weeks. Colony Capital and Pinnacle Entertainment are also trying to acquire the firm.

Last 13th March, Colony offered 38 dollars for each share of Aztar while Pinnacle offered 41 dollars on 31th March. Now, Ameristar has raised the bids to 42 dollars.

The three companies are disputing the 34-acre land Aztar owns in Las Vegas, at one of the busiest intersections of the city where the Tropicana Hotel and Casino operates.

While Colony runs the Hilton Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, neither Pinnacle nor Ameristar own any property in the city.

Ameristar’s offer had consequences in Wall Street, both for the company and for Aztar.
While Ameristar lost $1.29 per share, Aztar’s shares rose $2.46, which means a 5.86% increment.
